City Perks

Well, this am we went to a new coffee location - City Perks (there is an 's' on the business card and the windows). It is on Princess and 7th near City Hospital. Owned and operated by Coralee (and Michael)- they have owned it for three years but it has been around for about ten. Great decor, real community feel and very good coffee. The place was hopping by 9:30am

We will be back.
We were thinking that when the weather is warmer it is a good 30 min bike ride from home - mostly down hill.
Which means the hard part will be heading back home after the cinnamon bun. :~)

Sat morning date

We took the bikes out for a nice long ride this past Saturday morning and ended up at Intermission Coffee House. Not for a coffee though. We were too warm for a coffee so I had a refreshing lime Italian Soda, and David has a chocolate milkshake. We just felt the need to get summer on it's way! And we shared an orange cranberry muffin and the morning paper.

The chocolate milkshake was much better.....

But the Italian Soda was very pretty.

Now,  I must get off the computer and to laundry and packing. My sweetheart and I are headed to Montreal and I need to get some camera equipment ready....oh and a few clothes too.

DH will be sitting through conference stuff and I will be out capturing the feel of old Montreal.

PS - I made it to the spin class this morning - 5:45 am and it was a killer.

Intermission Coffee House

A favorite stop on my way to work is at Intermission Coffee House on Central Ave in Sutherland. It is also David's and my place to relax and read the paper on Saturday mornings.

I like Tim's too but I am a great proponent of supporting the independent merchant and besides I hate waiting for 15 minutes in a lineup for my coffee - in fact I REFUSE to do that!!

Rob's coffee at Intermission house is really good. It is a great place to hang with the community or just find a comfy chair and surf the internet. And it is a place where I just open the door and Rob is getting my large vanilla bean decaf ready before I get to the till.

And it just got better!

These are coffee beans - fresh ones - never roasted. They look just like peanuts. They come in in all sorts of lovely creamy shades. I took these pics at Intermission House last week.

Then you roast them to perfection!

and they look like this. Oozing with rich flavour

.....then you brew them up and mmmmmm

And serve them with Sheri's (Rob's wife) delicious cinnamon buns

Rob now has one of only three coffee roasters to be found in Saskatoon. So if you like freshly roasted coffee beans, then get him to roast some for you to take home or to just try a mug of it.

If you are there at about 8 am on a Saturday morning then we will see you!

Have a blessed weekend everyone. David and I are cleaning out the basement tomorrow - a day long job. I will be putting up a few items on kijiji.

An upright piano (smaller size), an antiques desk from a Wpg law office - solid oak, large, five drawers, 100 yrs old, and a 5 ft metal table in excellent condition. Let me know if you are interested. Maybe a bedroom suite too if one of the kids doesn't claim it very soon.

MMMM Good

MMMMM isn't that a lovely photo? It goes with the chocolate in my last post. 

I am dumping photos off my camera card this morning and just wanted to share this lovely one with you. Since I am running out the door 5 min ago, I will post further on the new roasting machine at Intermission Coffee House on central. 

I am dumping because I need a full 2 GB for the day. yes the convention at JSI is on and and the theme is Hollywood glamour!! The bling is out and we have turned on the class. 

So stay tuned because I will be taking a ton of photos and catching the "stars" as they work.
