Flying through the wedding album

The night before the wedding - getting it all figured out - only took two tries.
The bride and groom are a little anxious in anticipation of the big day.

Sammy looks much more relaxed.

wedding pages...

Remember this creative mess?

Well it now looks like this and I have organized all my wedding stuff... which meant a trip to pick up a few more papers for the stash... and stuff.

Which has allowed me to create a couple more wedding pages.

I am seriously considering getting seriously into digital scrapbooking!! Think how clean my scrapbook room will look. I have been so very inspired by Wilna's blog. Love this gal!! Not only an inspiration for my creative side but an inspiration to my soul. If you don't have her on your Google reader - do it now!

Carpe Diem! especially if you have the day off!

Todays encouragement...

The eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.

1979 - newlyweds

I am not sure how this photo made it into my pile of photos to be scrapped sometime when I am not working on 2001 - but it did and I happened to be organizing that pile of photos at JSI one day. I pulled the photo out and right away thought of this gorgeous paper - which I am so sorry I glued down before I figured out what company it is from - if you know leave a comment. Also new in to JSI this day were these very classy circle stickers "Narratives" from Creative Imaginations. sorry they are all gone but hopefully Ralna will get more in.

Well that was the start of my first page of our wedding in 1979 and along with some flowers, bling, hearts from the stash, the page fell together nicely.

Sigh - I love this guy more today than I did on our wedding day 29 years ago. It was a fairy tale beginning and Lord willing it will be a fairy tale 30 more years with the love of my life.

Another wedding page

Another wedding page. Oh they are so nice to do. Love the lace card stock from k i memories but it is hard to see on this scan - it is at the bottom - subtle :) The new rub-ons from Beary Patch are very elegant - love them all and the Prima order arrived so the bling is in and oh my, I am well stocked up on bling. But hey there are very few pages where flowers and bling just don't work, right? And yes we are very well stocked on the Prima order of flowers....at least we were when I left work today.

I love this photo of Paul and Allie - just had to scrap it. Isn't the KI memories lace card stock fun?

last wedding page

Well I have internet access now after loosing it again - it seems my computer was configured for the network here at home and ..well... remember I disconnected the network to get internet access...my computer got confused "where are all the other computers I am supposed to be connected to - I lost my friends" I told it to get over it - we were a lone team right now! It secumbed. The kids won't be too thrilled when they get home and have to physically reset up the network and reconfigure the computers...maybe it is time for remote access. No more wires getting in the way. Does anyone have remote? Is it slower? I really don't want slower.

Here is another wedding page - the last one I put in the album before sending it off to Victoria to the newlyweds. I think everyone is happy with the album. Sigh. It was a lot of work but so enjoyable. Hope it is treasure in many years to come. :)

It has been a very long day! I started working this am in the three Emergency departments and they were all really busy. I assess the elderly in Emerg for home care needs when they are discharged (not my usual job - just filling in) It is quite interesting but sometimes there are a lot of them to see and communication can be difficult at times. It was sooo busy today. Don't know why - maybe people were waiting for all their Easter guests to go home before showing up really sick. I figured - no problem, just get through the eight hour shift and enjoy my slow evening shift at the scrapbook store....well you wouldn't believe how busy we were tonight. But it was fun and everyone seems to be getting back into scrapbooking after many months off - so that is exciting. Spring fever? I don't know but there were so many people in the store and in the crop room scrapbooking. It was a buzz of activity! I am running on overdrive right now....really lacking sleep. Got to go to bed.

Thanks for looking!

more wedding layouts

I am posting this first layout at Angie's request - hope it is the right one - she saw it in the store and of course I have taken them all down now to put them in the album. So here it is. So what can I say about this layout....didn't use a whole lot of product. he he But I did do some photo editing in Photo Shop. There was a whole bunch of clutter (read mess) in the back ground - ie my son's basement apartment which is teeny and four guys were staying there - so you can only imagine! So this is the guys getting ready. Isn't it wonderful how six 4x6 photos fit so neatly on a 12x12 page?

Here is another easy one - great paper, a photo and a few rub-ons.

Allie had such an exquisite dress and it looked so beautiful on her - had to get this photo of the back of her dress! Little bit of flash glare when I digitalized this layout.

This page was very easy. The paper is beautifully embossed with the words "dearly beloved" and "forever yours" in silver. I added silver photo corners, flowers and the hearts - and a little bling in the center of the flowers.

Thanks for looking!

Wedding pages

Hi - just enough time here to upload a few more pages from the wedding album. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for your comments

Hi again. Thanks for your comments Angie and Allie. It is always nice to know somone is interested. :) Here are a few more pages from Paul and Allie's wedding album. This one didn't work out so well when I made the digital - the word 'anticipation' really is straight on the page. :) But I really like this picture of Allie looking out the window moments before leaving for the church.

This page has their wedding vows on it - I put them on in Photoshop before printing the photo. The P&A are a little hard to see. I used alcohol inks on plastic letters to get the color I wanted. Alcohol inks are fun!

This page is pretty simple. Love to use bling! especially for wedding pages.

Thanks for looking!

Less gab - more layouts

Okay less gab and more layouts today...
I wish the layout were clearer - they are much better in real life.
I have used our new overlays again and then added my titles with chipboard cut from our die cut machine. So easy! Yes, you can cut any of our diecuts with chipboard. Add some pattern paper over the chipboard (cut with the diecut) and a little bling and the page is ready to go!

Its all in the details and most weddings are full of details that, when they all come together, make for a wonderful celebration and day of fun. So how do we capture all those details without making the wedding album 100 pages long? Make the pictures smaller. Just open your photo editing program and go in and crop those special details out. I cropped my details 2x2.To ease the eye, I added my title in the rows of photos and added fillers here and there so the eye is not overwhelmed. It is hard to see the photos on the blog here but they are all those special moments and things that go into a wedding that I want to remember but perhaps not devote a page to. :) If you change several of the photos to black and white, the page will look less busy.

Journalling is so important because in 20 years you are not going to remember what you were feeling, thinking or even doing when you look at the photos. I like to "hide" my journalling in my paper -make it part of the page. Just use a patterned paper that is not too dark or detailed and run it through the printer, or hand journal and then add it to the page. So many of our papers today have words on them that are really just part of the design and look of the paper. Well just make those words your words and incorporate them into the patterned paper. Be creative with different fonts and sizes. Have fun with your journalling.

Now I am not very experienced with hiding my journalling under pictures with pull outs and hinges, but Laura and Pam are experts at it. Visit us at Just ScrapIt! and take a look at some of their creations - wow! lots of ideas for getting pages of precious journalling on the layout and keeping it hidden - just ask and we will show you where it is hiding!
Thanks for looking!

First Post!

Well sometimes I think I am too old to learn something new but here I am with my first Blog. I think I will use this blog primarily to show off my scrap book pages - it is probably the easiest way to share them with people.

I have a link to the Scrap book store - Just Scrap It! Please check it out and then drop by the store and see what the UPS delivery truck brought us today!

I also have a link to my new daughter in law's blog (married to my son Paul). Her name is Allie, which happens to also be my daughters name. :) Which makes for much fun.

There is a link to In Depth Studies Canada. As a
Christian who loves the Lord Jesus, this site is a great way to learn more about Him.

My favorite site to get more ideas for my scrapbooking is Two Peas so I thought I would add a link for those of you that like to scrap lift....don't we all?

I will add links as I go...and have time.

This scrapbook page above is from my son Paul and Allie's wedding last August. Since I have just finished their album, you will see a lot of their pages here. Below is one of my favorite two page layouts. Hope you can read the fine print on it! They are such cute kids! And so in love...

Here is another page from the wedding album. It says "Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life...Love gives us a fairytale"

And aren't weddings a whole lot of fun? Paul and Allie's was. It had such a laid back atmosphere that everyone had so much fun - even the Bride and Groom. This page captured the fun and laughter! Just black and white paper and lots of rub ons - stop into the store and I will show you how I did it - this is one fast and easy scrap book page!

Another easy page using overlays. Got to love them! An overlay on a nice paper, a touch of ribbon and your page is done!

Thanks for looking! Please feel free to leave your comments.
