Saskatoon Photography Newborn

I love newborns. They smell so wonderful. So fresh form above.
Welcome Sloan. A very special gift for Aaron and Alicia. There is much joy in this family ~ a healthy full term precious daughter. God is good.

I love this photo below because I know how much Alicia went through to have this precious gift in her arms. Her rainbow is here and she is healthy. Blessing upon blessings!

Photos are all up in Sloan's gallery on the web site. HERE

Saskatoon Photography ~ Wedding

Here are a few of Kathryn and Duane's Wedding photos.
It was a beautiful fall day and the leaves were spectacular. Unfortunately the cold fall wind forced us indoors.  But it was still lots of fun and Kathryn was a stunningly beautiful bride - as you can see. :)

I will be posting the rest on my web site in the Private Gallery sections by tonight.

Saskatoon Photography ~ Wedding

Another wedding this past weekend and this union took place on the South Saskatchewan River. Yes, on the river. In a boat of course! My first ever wedding shoot on a boat. Yeah!  It was fun!
Mara and Phil were engaged last March, with plans for a destination wedding next February 2012 but in early August they decided, why wait? So they pulled everyone together for an "engagement" party and surprise!!!
Mara arrived in a wedding gown.
How spontaneous and fun!
And I was privileged to capture it! I love my job! :)
My favorite photo is of Mara and Phil heading off into the sunset with all their friends and family to celebrate this very special day.
That, and the look on Mara's eldest son's face when his Mom arrived in a wedding gown - proud and excited. Love it! Warms my heart.

The gallery is up on the web site for all the family and friends.

South Circle Bridge

Do we have an official name for this bridge?

David and I got on the bikes and checked out the new bridge early this am - like 8 am early.  It was a bit of a work out but our legs needed it as did our sagging metabolism.
It is progressing well (the bridge that is) and is always impressive to see.

So here are a few of my photos for you and for my friend Don (and Janey)
I know you wanted to get down there and have a look - hope you can do that soon.

BTW These are pretty big photos, so click on them for a much larger view.

The north/west side is well under way. They are just preparing the ground on the s/e side.

Here is a closer look...with CN passing by.

BTW - those big metal girders? ( I have no idea what they are called)
But they are huge.
Need some perspective?
See if you can find the two guys working on them in the next photo.

Trucks just filling with rock, driving to the bottom of the hill (see first photo),
dropping the rock and driving up to the top of the hill. All day long
And while he waits for the next fill? Read the paper.

If you get a chance - head down there and take a look.

Spring is here.

A long bike ride this morning provided opportunity to photograph spring.

Quote for today
Let us turn from the story of the crucifixion, every time we read it, with hearts full of praise. Let us praise God for the confidence it gives us, as to the ground of our hope of pardon. Our sins may be many and great, but the payment made by our Great Substitute far outweighs them all. Let us praise God for the view it has given us of the love of our Father in heaven. He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, will surely with Him give us all things. Not least, let us praise God for the view it gives us of the sympathy of Jesus with all His believing people. He can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He knows what suffering is. Jesus is just the Savior that an infirm body, with a weak heart, in an evil world, requires.

Designer Digitals

My husband went to work on Sunday afternoon - normally I would frown at the prospect of spending the day without him, but it meant I could get 6 loads of laundry done, sort through some messes on my computer and then get distracted with some ideas from  Designer Digitals - the most inspiring digital scrapbooking site EVER - seriously I have yet to find another digital scrapbooking site that even comes close to product and talent of such high caliber as Designer Digitals.
When you are ready to take the leap, head on over there.

The results of my distraction today are....

Took this photo of the Broadway St bridge about three weeks ago. I love it! So it needed to be scrapped - this page took 10 minutes using a 25 cent template that I just recoloured.
EASY!!!!
This page cost 25 cents!! The silver Saskatoon letters were a freebie and it cost $2.50 to get printed at Costco - sweetheart is picking it up as I type.

And then I went hog wild with the pink - just because I CAN!!

Aint she a beaut?
A real keeper I say!!
Nope! You can't have her!!
I miss her all ready!

If you care to see all my digital layouts, you can check out my gallery HERE
The "albums" have multiple layouts in them so go head and open them up.

Have a blessed day everyone and do take time to look at the incredible moon we have tonight!

Good Morning Saskatoon

What a beautiful day in a beautiful city. Headed out at 8am.
Good morning Saskatoon!

Riding our bikes, enjoying the warm sun and each others company....

... meeting new people. This is Caroline just coming over the rise on the pedestrian walkway under the Circle Dr bridge. I love the lines on this bridge. Caroline is on her way to running 1000 miles in one year.
Check out her blog!

After our bike ride along the river this am we went for coffee (and muffins) and then met our friend Ken at work for a wee bit of a tour. I do like photographing this 100 yr old building.

And unrelated to our Saturday morning of riding but still related to bike riding, I took my bike to work last week and avoided this on the way home.

Went to see Julia, Julie this evening and it is a fabulous, fun, clean movie that portrays two very happy couples who actually love each other enough to sustain wonderful marriages.
Funny, entertaining and leaves you with a good feeling. My kind of movie.

Saturday morning bike ride.

Our Saturday morning bike ride this week took us down to the river and what a beautiful Saskatoon summer morning it was. The farmers market was abuzz with people, vendors, food and entertainment. We really must make this a regular Saturday morning adventure. We picked up some lemon infused vinegar, BBQ sauce, arugula for tonight's salad and fresh onions. All organic and very healthy of course.

We stopped at the Bess for breakfast - waaay over priced and we won't do that again - what did they think? .... corporate office was paying or something?

Do find time to head down to the river landing this summer and enjoy the activities.

City of Bridges

Another page I was able to do on Tuesday. Real easy - grundge board die cut letters covered in several colours of glimmer mist on Beary Patch Paper - Romantiques. This is beautiful paper - and it is in now at JSI. And the Prima "Say it with Studs" for some bling.

I took this picture when coming in for landing from Victoria when flying with West Jet .
Have a great week everyone!
