I scrapbooked!

Poor grammar, I know, but "I Made a Scrap-booking Page" was much too long a title.
I am feeling the itch to scrap book again but I will have to quit the day job in order to actually scratch that itch. Between SHR and Photography I have worked almost 60 hr weeks the past two weeks. The house needs cleaning the ironing awaits me, the yard - hopeless.
I have all these wonderful photos of Eva and Tanis and, well, I want to scrap them and get them into an album. Somehow, some day, some TIME!

This happens to be a digital page - because they are much, much faster and my desk is currently covered in lenses and battery chargers so I do not have a place to actually glue. But I like it and I especially love the subject.

Journalling reads: Eva came for the day today. She brought a bag of toys but her favorite were cans of tuna, oysters, chocolate pudding boxes and Grandpa building towers with them.

More Digital

On to September to November 2003
I figure I will go with the momentum here because if I stop it could be another year before I get going again. I have my moments when I ask myself why I am doing this. Especially at 4am!
Do you scrapbookers have those moments?
I know you do....
....it's not like the kids are hounding me daily to get their lives into an album...
But one day...maybe....my grandkids may just find it all amusing.

and another from July that I just finished up (how to use nine photos on one page).

On to October...
And I am stopping here and posting this now because i have just discovered all the digital photos we took with our first digital camera in early Dec 2003....and there are a TON of them.

Just when I thought I was sooo close to moving on to 2004.
sigh
I need a few hours to sort through them all....

Digital Efforts

I have been working away at photos from the year 2003. We did a lot of things that year (like any other year) and I photographed them all, so there are hundreds of photos to cull through! I have been scanning a good portion of them.

When I started working on 2003, I was learning digital scrapbooking so I decided that the year 2003 would all be digital. I am looking forward to seeing how the album looks when it is all done. I am especially looking forward to finishing the year 2003 because I have been at it now for ....over a year! At this rate....
I won't think about that!

Dec 2003 is when our household went digital and from then on all the photos are on my computer....somewhere. So no more scanning and fixing in Lightroom after that. YEAH!

I set my goal for 2003 and so I will finish it. I am stubborn that way. Hopefully I will get better at it as I go..... In the meantime I will try to do a little paper scrapbooking of the more recent photos.

So here you go.
A digital glimpse into our lives from June to August 2003.

Awk! She scrapbooked a page!!

I know, it has been months. I was planning on sitting down at the computer and working my way through Chapter 10 of Scott Kelby's Lightroom 2 book for Digital Photographers tonight. The guys are off to a movie tonight - Dave, Harold and Ken (Robin Hood)
But I have been, seriously,  on the computer for 10-14 hrs /day for the past two weeks, either at work (SHR)or at play(home/web site).
Soooo I pulled out some of the stuff I haven't seen for three months and made a simple page ~ Content.
Which aptly describes how we feel on the beaches of Mexico.

Then I went on the computer and made a digital page... just because one of these days I really have to finish scrapbooking the year 2003 (which I am trying to make all digital).... so I can move on to 2004..before it is 2015!!!

Now.... I will work on Chapter 10 Creating a slide show in Lightroom.
Or maybe go to bed....

Don't forget to check out the new web site

January recap

I made a January calendar with all my 365 photos from January.
Happy with the way it turned out and it is a nice short recap of the month.
I think I will do this with February too ... hopefully I get faster because this took over 3 hours.

Designer Digitals

My husband went to work on Sunday afternoon - normally I would frown at the prospect of spending the day without him, but it meant I could get 6 loads of laundry done, sort through some messes on my computer and then get distracted with some ideas from  Designer Digitals - the most inspiring digital scrapbooking site EVER - seriously I have yet to find another digital scrapbooking site that even comes close to product and talent of such high caliber as Designer Digitals.
When you are ready to take the leap, head on over there.

The results of my distraction today are....

Took this photo of the Broadway St bridge about three weeks ago. I love it! So it needed to be scrapped - this page took 10 minutes using a 25 cent template that I just recoloured.
EASY!!!!
This page cost 25 cents!! The silver Saskatoon letters were a freebie and it cost $2.50 to get printed at Costco - sweetheart is picking it up as I type.

And then I went hog wild with the pink - just because I CAN!!

Aint she a beaut?
A real keeper I say!!
Nope! You can't have her!!
I miss her all ready!

If you care to see all my digital layouts, you can check out my gallery HERE
The "albums" have multiple layouts in them so go head and open them up.

Have a blessed day everyone and do take time to look at the incredible moon we have tonight!

back to 2003..... Babies and weddings...

Allison up at Table Mountain learning to snowboard March 2003

Paul's 17th birthday, Jan 6 2003

Paul joins the reserves. It was a short lived experience, for which I am thankful.
Chalk it up to experience. Jan 2003

I am waiting patiently for the phone call but so far no baby.
So to pass the time I have started the 2003 album. Oh I feel so far behind....

Not done the wedding album yet.
Thankful for a whole day to scrapbook today - yup the WHOLE Day! I was up at 6am!
SIX pages.

Here it is again - the opening page of my grandchild's first album.....

Today is Labour day - has anybody told the child this?????

And one more weddding page made with real glue and paper...

Bride's Arrival
Love this photos of the back of Allison's dress as we scurry to get her out of sight and into the back door of the church - such fun!

And as if my days weren't full enough, I have started another blog - My Life in 365 Days. I wanted to challenge myself and hopefully improve my photography skills so I am taking a picture every day for 365 days. Go check it out and leave a comment.
No lurkers... :)

Remember Photoshop Spheres?

About 8 months ago I showed y'all some of the spheres I had made with Photoshop using my photos.

Well tonight I took a collage of some of my scrapbook layouts and made a sphere - with a bit of a reflection too. I love it. So much fun. Got the idea off of Digital Designer

Also made a quick digital page using some photos from our trip to S Carolina last fall.

I needed a break from wedding layouts!
It was wonderful!

In other news I have been asked to take a new position with SHR - A two year full time position in a new SHR project with Long Term Care clients in acute care beds. I am very excited with this new challenge...but it does mean I will be very busy. I am looking forward to more work with families and less list management stuff. Starts Sept.

And another family has booked me for a photo shoot in September. YIKES - that's four shoots in September. PRESSURE!!
Umm... expect less blogging. Srapbooking will likely slow down but with the new grand baby due any day that could be to hard to resist. :) Waiting for the phone call. Camera is ready!

Now I need to go to bed... feeling a bit of flu coming on which I cannot afford to have right now. I need to work tomorrow and get some shopping done after work for a guest this weekend. David has been out at dinner meetings all week and I have been content to have a bowl of cereal for supper. The cupboards are bare. LOL

Blessings to you all!
