The Netherlands
Just finished another quick layout for our 2000 album. I know, I said I was finished with 2000, but then came across these pictures of David's business trip to Delft and Amsterdam in The Netherlands. David did all the journalling about the places he visited, his favorite restaurant and his favorite dish, eel. Click on the pages to enlarge them and you can read what he wrote. I was so glad to get him involved in the scrapbooking process and I think he actually enjoyed it. I will not likely get him to use an embellishment or glue stick, but he did do the journalling and sometimes that is the more difficult part. :)\
Blessings!

SNOW much FUN
Just one more two page layout and I have finished archiving all our numerous family events for the year 2000. It has taken almost a year. LOL at this rate I will never catch up! Used Basic Grey paper and letter stickers - still love those! and their newest font is so nice - can't wait for the new line of BG coming soon- some white chip board cut at JSI! for the letters and Me and my Big Ideas glittery snowflakes..and a few embellishments from the stash.
My next layout is a challange - for me that is! About 15 pictures - and really poor ones at that - but I can't leave our fun Christmas talent show out of the album. I hope to get it done this weekend..and then! on to 2001 - but first perhaps a few recent photos that I really like!
Thanks for letting me share.

Another page for the year 2000 album
Posting from Victoria another page I finished and loaded last weekend. I am still in Victoria and spent most of last night at the hospital and I am about to head back, Dad isn't doing too well but I am hopeful that today we will see a turn for the better. I am thankful to be here to relieve Mom - she worries so. I was up until 1:30am last night and for those of you who know me, you know I don't function too well after 10 pm...that's because I get up at 5am...which is what I just did again - so 4 hrs sleep. But God is amazing and completely provided for me as I sat watching and praying for Dad last night and I am anxious to get up there this morning...I just needed 20 minutes of scrapbook therapy before heading out the door. :)
So here is my post I uploaded last weekend and saved.
Plugging along here with the year 2000 album...it has taken me almost a year! Hmmm which means I will never catch up! Except that I do scrapbook current pictures when those great pictures call out to me. :) This seemed to be a year that we did a LOT of things!
This two page layout is inspired by a great website called Pencilines. This is my take on sketch #66. Ralna put me onto this site and I love it - great inspiration!
This is our little Allison's 11th birthday party - and like most birthday party pages - there are lots of photos. I used three different companies for the paper - my favorites - Basic Grey, We are Memory Keepers and My Minds Eye. And I don't think there is a company I didn't use on all the other stuff - just dove into my stash. The Ooh-la-la rub on is new - just came into JSI! Basic Grey Two Scoops rub-ons. The blue paper is also from the new two scoops line.

My Poet
This was a challenging layout, not because it was to be a great scrapbooking feat, but because I wanted it to be something that Harold would one day see and know that I think he is a terrific son and a great poet and that our high school days of home schooling were really fun. And especially that I am thankful that the Lord blessed me with him. There are three of his poems on this page - and I love them all. One of them reads...

My Mother
When I describe my mother
I don't know where to start
We both have a lot to do with each other
For starters we're both pretty smart
We do fairly well with memorizing
And both of us are really good cooks
We're excellent when it comes to problem solving
Inside we're the same not just for looks
We both love to dabble in artistry
Our creative minds always active
Art seems to be our mastery
When we work on a project we always think positive
My mother and I are pretty much the same
Nothing will make us different not money nor fame

More 2000 layouts
Here are a few layout...yes I am STILL working on the summer of 2000 - we sure did a lot of stuff that summer - my children can never say we didn't do stuff with them!
Only about 40 more photos to finish up the year 2000 for our albums.
Blessings!

scrapbooking!
Some days scrapbooking is about taking lots of not so great pictures with terrible colour that mark a fun event in our lives...and using up old paper, rub-ons and old chipboard produce a page. Here it is....no new product, only old....a little sanding and inking and a gel pen and in the album it goes.
BTW - I grew up listening to classical music....David on the other hand played in a rock and roll band with his brothers....so when you visit the cousins on his side..guess what you do?

fellowship
I do hope all the Saskatoon people are enjoying this wonderful thunder storm - summer isn't summer without a few 'shake the house' crashing bangs. I am amazed the electricity is still on. :)
So no scrapbooking by candle light tonight. Another page catching up on the summer of 2000. A team from John MacArthur's church in California spent an inspirational 10 days (I think) with us. We met for fellowship in our garage Sunday morning, had fun at the Berry Barn, spent our mornings on the deck praying and a whole bunch of other stuff. It was busy and fun.
Using the new Basic Grey Mellow line here, the new white gel pens at Just Scrap It and some old rub-ons.

Basic Grey fun!
I have to say my all time favorite paper is Basic Grey. It is the perfect paper for any outdoor pictures. I have had other favorites over the years - I love all the My Minds Eye line - but Basic Greay just has something about it that makes it so fun and easy to use. I am using six diffrent BG papers on these two layouts from about five different lines! That is the beauty of BG - you can mix and match different lines. Love it!
So more summer 2000 photos - this time the kids learning to waterski up at Emerald Lake.
Blessings!
